BLRT Grupp supports creation of active movement trails

On May 10, three active movement trails - Pelgulinna, Kopli and Noblessner - were opened for the first time in Estonia in the Põhja-Tallinn capital district with a mission to increase the interest of residents towards more active lifestyle. This time BLRT Grupp is a project partner.

"The history of BLRT Grupp on the Kopli peninsula is already 105 years old. During this time the industrial zone was an integral part of the residential environment, they were formed in parallel. We are very pleased to have an opportunity to support such undertaking and, thereby, contribute to the development of the district and to the improvement of the living environment. We are all lucky that we live in a city with clean air. Trails for active movement will provide a nice opportunity to use this advantage to improve health, and enable as well to see places that cannot be easily reach, "said Mark Berman at the opening ceremony.

The longest trail is Pelgulinna, which is 5,7 km long. It covers the coastline of Stroomi, park and the future Pelgulinna square. The length of the second track is 3,7 km, and it passes through the Kopli  peninsula and Kopli lines. Trails for active movement named "Noblessner" is 3,47 km long and it runs through Kalaranna street, Kalamaja Park, Noblessner's Quarter, Summer Harbor, Beta-Promenade and Battery Fortress.

All trails for active movement will be equipped with information stands and necessary road-signs. All further information on the trails can be found at the home page terviserajad.ee in the section "trails" (est. rajad).

The project was developed by the Põhja-Tallinn district government in cooperation with SA Eesti Terviserajad.
